Expedition 10 Kicks Off New Week With Robot Arm Work
After enjoying a quiet weekend aboard the International Space Station, the
Expedition 10 crew began the new week with a full workload. Commander Leroy
Chiao took the controls of the Robotic Workstation in the Destiny Laboratory
Module for a training session with the Station’s robot arm, Canadarm2.
During the session, he used the arm’s camera to conduct an inspection of the
outside of Destiny.
Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov performed routine maintenance on the
Russian segment’s Elektron oxygen generation system. Sharipov also performed
routine maintenance on the ventilation system in the Zvezda Service Module.
Both crewmembers monitored ISS science experiments and conducted their daily
exercise regimen.
On the ground, Expedition 9 crewmembers Gennady Padalka and Mike Fincke are
in Star City, Russia, for several weeks of post-flight debriefings and
medical exams before returning to Houston on Nov. 13.
