Terra Weekly Mission Status Update - August 23 - 29, 2002

The Terra spacecraft is in nominal mode. All instruments are in Science Mode.

The MODIS lunar calibration roll maneuver scheduled for August 27 was conducted successfully.

The ESMOS Project and Project Scientists for Terra and Aqua presented the integrated plan for implementation of the Deep Space/Lunar Calibration Maneuver(s) to Headquarters Code Y on August 28. The presentation was well received and a decision as to whether to proceed with maneuver implementation in the December time frame is expected late next week.

TERRA PLANS:

  • The next Drag Make-up Maneuver is scheduled for September 4.
  • The final Inclination Adjust Maneuver is planned for late September 25.
  • The next MODIS lunar calibration roll maneuver is scheduled for September 26.
