MDA’s Information Systems group (MDA) today announced that Antwerp Space NV has contracted with MDA to provide a communication antenna subsystem for the 2018 mission of the ExoMars programme.
The plan for the 2018 mission is to deliver a European rover and a Russian surface platform to the surface of Mars. The antenna subsystem allows the rover to communicate with mission control on Earth.
MDA also provided a communication antenna subsystem for the 2016 ExoMars mission, which is scheduled to arrive at Mars in 2016.
Joanna Boshouwers, the general manager responsible for MDA’s communications business in Montreal said, “This award reflects MDA’s continuing ability to respond to the challenging requirements of interplanetary exploration satellites.”
