In response to the BNSC Call for Study proposals for the Interim funding round of the S@tcom programme BNSC is pleased to inform you that 4 proposals were received by the closing date of 30th June 2003.
The S@tcom Evaluation Panel (SEP) has completed its assessment of the proposals. The competition was very demanding in this round and after careful consideration the SEP has recommended that Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) consortium be awarded a contract (subject to a satisfactory full proposal) for a study for the"Provision of cost-effective broadband internet services by satellite for rural areas and developing countries".
