The European Commission, who is responsible for the Copernicus programme, has initiated an action with the objective of establishing a long term picture of the requirements for Copernicus services and the satellite configuration needed to support them with appropriate Earth Observation data. This workshop is organised within the framework of the Next Generation Copernicus Space Component contract launched by DG GROW in June 2015.
This workshop aims at identifying specific needs and expectations, and likely evolution scenarios, for the Copernicus Climate Change Service in the timeframe after 2022. This is a unique opportunity for the attendees to provide the EC with an early picture of user requirements that would drive the design and configuration of the next generation of the Copernicus Space component. Participants will be mainly required to indicate their priorities in terms of data, products and information at large, as needed by their mandates and activities. The workshop is not intended to discuss technical requirements and specifications for satellites and instruments.
